In 2005, Sheldon M. Jones, founder and current Chief Executive Officer, established Arima Capital as a platform for:
- Scaling a consulting practice he had established in 1996, and
- Utilizing the business intelligence solutions he had developed over his career to address a broader spectrum of client needs, particularly in government.
From the outset, Mr. Jones has been inspired by the belief that an integrated approach to corporate governance, which is prevalent and essential in entrepreneurial environments, is widely applicable in organizations large and small. As a business advisor, he has witnessed how the Integrated Asset Management™ approach he developed has delivered the benefits of speed, confidence and value to his clients for many years. He further postulated, and later confirmed through inquiry, observation, and successful Federal government engagements, that the Integrated Asset Management™ approach can have dramatic positive effects on the affairs of large organizations. Underlying the success of Arima Capital’s new approach is the strength and ingenuity of our business intelligence toolkit, which Mr. Jones and others are continually expanding.
Beyond his inventiveness, Mr. Jones possesses a unique and valuable blend of capabilities—strong financial analysis skills combined with insights gained from hands-on experience as an executive and entrepreneur. A finance-oriented professional, he has 20 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis and strategic planning in several industries, including government contracting, consulting, real estate development, construction, engineering and information technology. He is also proficient in capital raising, deal structuring, project management, marketing and other facets of real estate.
Prior to establishing Arima Capital, Mr. Jones was managing principal of a boutique consultancy that specialized in the structuring, formation and management of real estate development entities, joint ventures and government contracting partnership. Before that, he was Director of Finance of a 300-employee government contracting firm. He has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant for 17 years. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Howard University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. He has resided in the District of Columbia for 25 years.
